PENSIONER EILEEN HARDING DIES AFTER BEING HIT BY LORRY

A woman has died after she was hit by a lorry in east Belfast on Thursday morning.

Eileen Harding, 75, was taken to hospital after the collision on the Upper Newtownards Road but died later from her injuries.

Emergency services attended the scene at the junction of the Upper Newtownards Road and Grampian Avenue at about 9.15 am.

Detectives Sergeant Harrison said: “As part of our enquiries, we would like to speak with two females who came to the assistance of Eileen who could help with our investigation.

“The Collision Investigation Unit is appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage or any other information to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 368 03/02/22.”
