TWO MEN CHARGED OVER SPATE OF ROBBERIES

Detectives investigating a series of armed robberies in the south Belfast area over recent weeks have charged two men.

The men, aged 38 and 40, have been charged with a number of offences including robbery, attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

They are both due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning, November 5, for a first remand hearing.

As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

The charges relate to reports of robberies on the Ormeau Road on October 5, October 24 and Thursday, November 4th and the report of a robbery at a shop on Rosetta Road on Thursday, October 21.
