MAN VICIOUSLY STABBED IN BACK IN EAST BELFAST

DETECTIVES are investigating a stabbing incident on the Belmont Road in east Belfast on Sunday, October 31.

It was reported that a man was approached by an unknown male shortly before 5.30pm and stabbed once in his back.

The man was taken to hospital following the incident where he remains receiving treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

UPDATE: Police have today arrested a 29 year old man on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

The man remains in custody at this time assisting detectives with their enquiries.

A 45 year old woman arrested on Sunday, October 31, on suspicion of withholding information has been released on bail pending further police enquiries.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and detectives would ask anyone with any information to contact them at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 1638 31/10/21.
