A man has died after he was hit with a car at a retail park in Downpatrick, County Down.

The collision happened at the Downe Retail Park on Ballydugan Road in Downpatrick at about around 8.30 pm on Wednesday evening.

Emergency services were called to the park but the man died at the scene.

Ballydugan Road was closed after the incident but has since reopened.

The PSNI’s Inspector Campbell said: “Enquires are continuing and the Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage or any other information to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1946 27/10/21.”
