DETECTIVES in Belfast have charged a 52 year old man with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

He is due to appear in Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Saturday, September 11, for a first remand hearing.

As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

The charges relate to an incident in the Eglantine Place area of Belfast on Friday morning, September 10.
