Police have charged a 32-year-old man with Possession of Class A controlled drug with intent to supply.

He is due to appear before Newry Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday 10 August).

As is usual procedure, all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

The charge follows searches in the Silverbridge and Crossmaglen areas yesterday (Monday 9 August) where a quantity of suspected cocaine and cannabis with an estimated street value of £50,000 was seized.

A second man arrested yesterday, aged 58 years old, has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
