MALE HUNTED OVER EAST BELFAST BURGLARY BID

Detectives are appealing for information following a report of an attempted burglary which occurred in east Belfast last night, Friday, July 23.

Detective Sergeant Fairfield Said: “Shortly before 10pm, it was reported to police that an unknown male had attempted to gain entry to the rear of a house in the Bathgate Drive area.

“The male was subsequently disturbed by the occupants inside the property and then left the scene, by climbing over a nearby wall.

“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 2322 23/07/21.

“Police would take this opportunity to remind local people to take extra care to keep homes and belongings safe.

“If you have older relatives or neighbours help them to keep their property and belongings secure.

“Close and lock all doors and windows, consider security lights.

“To a burglar, a dark house is an empty house.

“You can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/  .

“You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/ .”
