A SECURITY alert in Co Antrim has now ended following the discovery of a bomb.

Detective Inspector Kelly said: “A security alert in Main Street in Glenavy has ended following the discovery of a viable device.

“ATO attended the scene and the item has since been removed for forensic examination.

“The area has now reopened and a number of people who were evacuated have been allowed to return home. 

“Detectives investigating would appeal to anyone who may have any information about the incident to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 292 of 16/06/21.”
