TEEN CHARGED OVER VICIOUS ASSAULT ON VULNERABLE MALE

DETECTIVES investigating the assault of a vulnerable adult male in the Antrim Road area of Glengormley on Saturday, May 29 have charged an 18-year-old man on suspicion of grievious bodily harm with intent.

The male has been 28 day charged and is set to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on June 28 for a first remand hearing.

As is normal procedures the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

The victim has been described as vulnerable because of his learning difficulties.

He was walking with two females near Farmley Road when he was assaulted.

The attacker, who was with one female, then fled the scene to the nearby Tramways shopping mall.
