
POLICE have charged a 41 year old man with a number of offences including possession and possession with intent to supply Class B controlled drugs.
He is due to appear at Newry Magistrates’ Court this morning, Friday, May 28, for a first remand hearing.
As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
The charges are in relation to a police operation on the A1 near Loughbrickland on May 26 when cannabis worth £900,000 was recovered.
It followed a cross border huge operation involving the PSNI’s Organised Crime Unit, An Garda Siochana, and HM Revenue and Customs, along with the PSNI’s Air Support Unit.
