THE victim of a brutal assault which took place within the Fernmore Road area of Bangor has sadly died in hospital on Tuesday.

Police can confirm he was 25 year old Denis Shearer from Bangor.

A 39 year old male and a 38 year old female have been charged in relation to this incident.

Mr Shearer was assaulted in the early hours of Sunday, February 28.
