THREE MEN TO FACE COURT OVER INLA ROBBERY BID

THREE men to face a court today after undercover police foiled an INLA robbery bid at the weekend.

A 30 year old man has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

Two men aged 27 and 23 years old have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

All three are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court today, Monday March 8.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

The charges are in relation to the recovery of a firearm and ammunition by detectives from the PSNI’s Paramilitary Crime Task Force investigating criminality linked to the INLA on Saturday, March 6.

Two men were detained outside Greggs at the Twin Spires Centre on Northumberland Street on Saturday morning around 9 am.

A third suspect was arrested on the Glen Road by covert police operating from a white works van.
