A MAN has been charged with the murder bid of a man in Bangor last weekend.
Timothy Steven Walker, of Abbey Ring, Holywood, appeared at Ards Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with attempting to murder a man at Fernmore Road, Bangor, on Sunday evening.
The 39-year-old was also charged with burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and with having a weapon with him, which was described as a blunt instrument.
A detective inspector told the court that Walker handed himself in to police on Tuesday morning after an extensive police search in the greater Ards area on Monday.
A 38 year-old woman has already been charged with assisting offenders in relation to the attempted murder.
Defence solicitor, Dennis Maloney, said the incident was a ‘tragic family matter’ and that the injured party is a cousin of Walker’s partner.
Walker was released on bail and the case was adjourned until March 10.
