Detectives from the PSNI’S Organised Crime Unit have charged five men with a number of offences, including possession with intent to supply Class B controlled drugs.
The five men – aged 23, 35, 36, 37 and 69 – are due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, February 25, for a first remand hearing.
As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges follow the seizure of £500,0000 worth of Class B controlled drugs by the PSNI and UK Border Force officers in the Glengormley area on February 23.
Detectives said the arrestes followed a number of parcels whhich were seized by the PSNI and UK Border Force officers destined for addresses across Northern Ireland in the past 12 months.
