TWO MEN TO FACE COURT OVER CASH-IN-TRANSIT ROBBERY

Car used in robbery crashed on Monagh bypass in west Belfast

DETECTIVES investigating the armed robbery of a cash in transit van at Great Victoria Street in Belfast City Centre on Tuesday, January 28, have charged two men.

The men, aged 40 and 44, have been charged with robbery and are due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning, Wednesday, January 27, for a first remand hearing.

A 52 year old woman has been charged with possession of a class A drug,

She is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on February 22nd.  

Two other men, aged 40 and 41, also arrested remain in custody at this stage.

As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

Following the robbery, police units across Belfast were alerted and gave chase to the getaway car which crashed and flipped onto its roof on the Monagh bypass in west Belfast.
