TWO ELDERLY PEOPLE TARGETED IN EAST BELFAST BURGLARY

DETECTIVES are appealing for information following the report of a burglary at the home of older people in the Grand Parade area of east Belfast on Wednesday evening, January 13.

Detective Sergeant Natalie Moore said: “It was reported to police that at approximately 7.00 pm,  five masked men forced their way into the property.

“They told the two occupants, who are both in their 80s, to remain in the living room whilst the men searched the house before leaving.

“It is not believed anything was taken during the incident, which has been very distressing for the victims.

“Enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1494 of 13/01/21.

“Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop this and any other form of crime.
