MAN VICIOUSLY BEATEN WITH HAMMER AND MEAL BAR

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of an assault in the Camross Park area of Rathcoole yesterday evening, Friday, 8 January.

At approximately 8.30pm as a man was walking in the Camross Park area near Glas Na Braden Glen he was assaulted by two men who were wearing balaclavas. 

One of his assailants had a hammer and one had a metal bar. 

The injured party received injuries to his elbow and hand.

Detective Sergeant Lenaghan said; “I would appeal to anyone who was in the Camross Park or Glas Na Braden Glen area, Rathcoole and witness this incident or anyone who has information that could assist with our enquiries to contact detectives at Antrim on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1771 08/01/21,
