MAN ARRESTED OVER BELFAST CITY CENTRE BURGLARIES

POLICE investigating a series of Belfast City Centre commercial burglaries, reported yesterday and in the early hours of this morning, January 5, have arrested a 34 year old male on suspicion of a number of offences and have seized a vehicle.

Sergeant Stuart Jackson said: “Following reports of four commercial burglaries, two of the same premises a matter of hours apart, local officers made an arrest following the search of a residential property in the Twinbrook area of West Belfast this morning.

“The male arrested is currently helping with ongoing enquiries.

“We will continue to carry out patrolling across the City and work with a range of partners to provide businesses with crime prevention advice.

“I would also remind business operators to ensure they have taken every possible step to protect their business and to contact their local police crime prevention officer on 101 if they need any further information.”
