ARMED MEN VICIOUSLY ASSAULT MAN IN HOUSE

DETECTIVES are etectives are investigating after a man was brutally attack with iron bars and hammers in his north Belfast home.

Police sayu officers received a report of an aggravated burglary at a house in the Carlisle Road area on Thursday, November 19.

Detective Sergeant Corrigan said, “At around 9:15pm it was reported to police that a number of masked men, wearing dark coloured clothing and armed with iron bars and hammers, gained entry to a house in the area and assaulted a man, aged in his 20’s.

“The man was struck repeatedly around the head, arms and legs and was taken to hospital where he received treatment for a suspected broken arm, cuts and severe bruising.

“Our enquires are ongoing and I would appeal for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of this incident to call detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1859 19/11/20.
