DETECTIVES investigating the report of an assault on a male in Botanic Park in south Belfast on Friday, May 29, have charged a 23-year-old man. 

The man has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and affray.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Friday, June 12.

As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
