DETECTIVES investigating a serious assault in Dundonald on Saturday, June 6 have charged a 46-year-old man.

He has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The 46-year-old is expected to appear before Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, June 8, for a first remand hearing.

A 41-year-old woman has been released on bail, pending further enquiries.
