DETECTIVES are appealing for information after a viable explosive device was discovered in a vehicle parked at a house in the White Rise area of Dunmurry today, Thursday, December 19.
 
A report was received shortly before 9 am this morning that a window of the vehicle had been smashed and a suspicious object discovered inside the vehicle.
 
Police attended and closed White Rise and evacuated a number residents.

ATO were tasked to examine the object and declared it to be a viable explosive device.
 
The device has been made safe and removed for further examination and residents permitted back to their homes.
 
Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the White Rise area overnight and who may have noticed any suspicious activity or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact them in Musgrave on 101 quoting reference 312 19/12/19.
