TWO MORE MEN ARRESTED IN PAYING FOR SEX PROBE

DETECTIVES  from the PSNI’s Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Unit have arrested a 46 year old man and a 45 year old man earlier today, Tuesday. October 1, at Musgrave Police Station on suspicion of paying for sexual services. 

The suspects remain in custody at this time, assisting detectives with their enquiries.

These two arrests are the result of the proactive investigation into human trafficking for sexual exploitation in Northern Ireland which saw eight individuals arrested on Sunday 29 September.

Sunday’s operation resulted in:
–              a 57 year old man arrested in Belfast on suspicion of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, controlling prostitution, brothel keeping and money laundering remains in police custody. Martin Heaney, from Dromore, was subsequently charged and appeared in Craigavon Magistrates Court earlier today and was remanded in custody.
–              A 27 year old female arrested in the Antrim on suspicion of controlling prostitution, brothel keeping and money laundering. She was subsequently released on police bail.
–              Six men, aged 20, 33, 33, 36, 52 and 54, were arrested at locations across Northern Ireland on suspicion of paying for sexual services.

They were subsequently released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
