TWO ARRESTED OVER ASSAULT AND BURGLARY IN NORTH BELFAST

DETECTIVES investigating the report of an aggravated burglary in north Belfast last night, Tuesday, September 24,  are appealing for information.

Detective Sergeant William Arnott: “We received a report that a male had forced entry to a flat in the Keadyville Avenue area at around 7 pm and threatened another male inside.

“The occupant sustained minor injuries to his head.

“A short time later police arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.

“Police also arrested the 36-year-old male occupant on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

“Both men remain in custody at this time.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around this time and witnessed what occurred to get in touch with detectives on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1760 of 24/09/19.”
