DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorism Investigation Unit, investigating the attempted murder of a senior police officer at Shandon Park in east Belfast on Saturday 1st June, have arrested a 40 year old man in north Belfast this morning , Saturday, August 3 .
He was detained under section 41 of the Terrorism Act.
The suspect has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Musgrave police station for questioning.
Detectives believe the bombers planted the device under the officer’s car at his east Belfast home on Friday, May 31.
The officer drove the following day to Shandon Park Golf Club but the device failed to explode.
