DETECTIVES investigating a brutal assault in west Belfast have charged a man.

The attack happened in the Aspen Walk area of Dunmurry on Monday, June 3, when a man was assaulted by a male armed with a crowbar.

CID detectives have charged a 36 year old man with GBH with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

He is due to appear at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Thursday, June 6, for a first remand hearing.

As is normal procedure the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
