MAN ROBBED AT KNIFE-POINT OF CASH AND PHONE IN BELFAST STREET

DETECTIVES are investigating after a man was robbed on the street in south Belfast on Sunday morning.

At approximately 2.30 am the victim was approached by a man armed with a large knife while walking along Carmel Street.

The robber demanded the male’s wallet and forcibly searched him before making off with cash and a smartphone.

The suspect made off in direction of Harrow Street.

Detective Sergeant Dave Stewart said: “I am appealing for witnesses to get in touch on 101, quoting reference 1321 29/04/19.”
