Jim Donegan murdered outside school gates in west Belfast last December

A 63 year old man has been arrested at Musgrave Police Station this morning under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act by detectives investigating the murder of wealthy drug baron Jim Donegan.

He remains in custody at this time.

The 43-year-old shot dead as he sat in his flame red Porsche Panamera car outside a school while waiting to pick up his son.

A lone gunman approached the driver side of his car and blasted him eight times to the head and upper body with a handgun.

Detective Chief Inspector Pete Montgomery said “Jim was brutally murdered as he sat in his car outside a school on the Glen Road in West Belfast on 4 December 2018.

“I would continue to urge anyone who has any information, or who witnessed the murder, to contact the police on 101.
