VICTIM ROBBED OF WALLET AND WATCH BY MEN ARMED WITH KNIFE

DETECTIVES are appealing for information following a report of an armed robbery at the New Lodge Road, north Belfast on Monday,  April 22.

Detective Constable Murray said: “At around 4 am, it was reported that two unknown males approached a man in his 30s who was walking in the area.

“The males threatened the man with a knife and made off with a wallet and a watch during the incident.

“The male was pushed to the ground and received a minor injury to his arm during the incident.

“The man armed with the knife is described as stocky build and 5”7 in height. He was wearing a navy top, maroon jogging style bottoms and a black beanie hat.

“The second male is described as being 5ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a white tracksuit with a tattoo on the right side of his eye of a circle with a cross.

“Enquiries are continuing and we would continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 445 22/4/19.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
