Man charged with the murder of Alice Morrow

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team have charged a 42-year-old man has been charged with the murder of east Belfast woman Alice Morrow.

Ms Morrow, a 53-year-old mother-of-three and grandmother-of-three, was found dead in her flat at Whincroft Way in the Braniel estate on Sunday.

Detectives on Tuesday were granted by a court an additional 36 hours to question the suspect who was arrested on suspicion of her murder the day after the body was found.

The man will appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 14, for a first remand hearing.
