TWO ARRESTED OVER ATTEMPTED MURDER OF MAN OUTSIDE PUB

DETECTIVES in Ballymena are appealing for witnesses following the report of a male being assaulted on Main Street, Portglenone in the early hours of Sunday morning, March 3.

Detective Sergeant Peter Crothers said: “Police received a report just after 12.10 am that a male, aged in his 20s had been assaulted outside licensed premises.

“The victim sustained head injuries during the incident.

 “Two men aged 37 and 39 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently in custody.

“I want to appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened, or anyone who has information about this to get in touch with detectives on the non-emergency number, 101, quoting reference number 23 of 03/03/19.”

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
