TWO MEN CHARGED TO COURT AFTER PENSIONER THREATENED AND ROBBED

Two men to face Belfast Magistrates’ Court accused of threatening and robbing elderly man in his east Belfast home

DETECTIVES have charged two males, aged 27 and 33, with aggravated burglary and possession of a class C controlled drug. 

They are expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow, Thursday, February 21.

The charges are in connection with a report of an aggravated burglary of a house in the Vicarage Street area of east Belfast during the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 20 February.

It was reported that at around 3.30am two males forced their way into a house in the area and threatened the male occupant, aged in his 70s, with a metal pipe before making off with his wallet.

Police responded and the suspects were arrested at the scene by officers and the stolen property recovered.
