Detective Chief Inspector Geoffrey Boyce leading investigation into murder of David Hugh Murphy

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team probing the murder of a man at a house yesterday have named him as David Hugh Murphy.

The 52 year old, whose body was found by a neighbour, had been shot dead.

Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Boyce said: “A post mortem is due to take place this afternoon.

“Mr Murphy’s body was located at an address on Church Road in Glenwherry at around 1 pm yesterday afternoon.

“Our enquiries are continuing and I would continue to appeal for anyone who has information which may assist our investigation to call us on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 544 of 19/02/19.”
