THERE is outrage after a ‘monster’ robbed a 102 year old woman of all her pension savings.
A man in his 40’s knocked on the rear door of the house in the Newpark area of Magheramorne in Larne at around 5 pm on Wednesday 30th January.
He then gained entry to her house and demanded she hand over her pension.
The man, wearing a blue yacht cap and a fleece, then fled through the front door with around £1000.
News of the robbery has provoked outrage on social media with people branding the robber as a “monster”.
PSNI Laren say detectives are appealing for help in catching the thug.
“At approximately 5 pm on Wednesday 30th January 2019 a male in his 40s wearing a blue yacht cap and a fleece knocked on the rear door of a 102 year old females house.
“This lady was on her own at the time and opened the door allowing this male to enter.
“This male has then asked for her pension which she went and gave him.
“This was around £1000 and the suspect has left via the front door with all the money.
“This occurred in a small estate close to Magheramorne House and police are requesting if anyone witnessed this male in the area or if anyone was driving along the Shore Road at Magheramorne and has dash cam footage to check this footage for any suspicious behaviour in and around the Newpark area of Magheramorne, Larne.
“If you have any information which can assist in identifying this suspect and returning this lady’s pension please contact Detectives in Ballymena CID quoting incident number 1019 30/01/19.”
