The 40-year-old victim, whose body was found in Devenagh Court on Thursday afternoon, has been named locally as Robin McMaster.
The PSNI said that a 53-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of his murder and later released on bail.
But she was rearrested yesterday and has been charged with fraud by false representation.
A post-mortem examination is due to be held today as police continue to investigate the circumstances around Mr McMaster’s death.
Detective Chief Inspector Peter McKenna said: “A 53-year-old woman arrested by detectives investigating the death of a 40-year-old man in the Devenagh Court area of Ballymena on Thursday, 22 November has been released on bail pending further enquiries and the outcome of a post mortem, which is due to be held today, Saturday, November 24.
“Detectives investigating the man’s death subsequently arrested the same woman earlier today. She has been charged with fraud by false representation and is due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
“As is normal procedure, the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
