DETECTIVES investigating the report of an aggravated burglary in north Belfast last night, Thursday, October 24, are appealing for witnesses and information.
Detective Sergeant Michael Maguire said: “We received a report at 9:35pm last night that four masked men, all armed with hammers, had forced entry to a property in the Keadyville Avenue area at around 9:20pm.
“Two of the suspects are reported to have assaulted a man inside the house with a hammer.
“A woman, aged in her 20s, who was also in the property intervened and was headbutted; sustaining a minor injury to her mouth.
“The man, aged in his 30s, attended hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
“Damage to a door and windows and a number of household items was also reported.
“One of the suspects was reported to have worn a navy-coloured tracksuit with stripes along the sleeves and bottoms.
“I want to appeal to anyone who was in the area between 9:20pm and the time the incident was reported to us and who saw a number of men in the area acting suspiciously.
“Anyone with information is asked to ring detectives at Musgrave on the non emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1344 of 24/10/18.”
