DETECTIVES are appealing for information following the report of an aggravated burglary at a house in the Whiterock Crescent area of Belfast last evening, Thursday,  October 4.

Police say that at around 9.35 pm six masked men burst into the house and ransacked a number of rooms in the property.

It is believed the men were carrying hammers.

Detective Sergeant Moffett would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1350 04/10/18.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
