WANTED DRUG DEALER FLOWN BACK FROM SPAIN TO FACE BELFAST COURT

Extradited man to face Belfast Magistrates’ Court for drug and knife offences

A 32 year old male was extradited from Spain to Northern Ireland in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, September 26.

He was arrested in Barcelona on 23 August by Spanish National Police on foot of a European Arrest Warrant issued by PSNI.

The male had his licence revoked by the Department of Justice in October 2017.

He is also wanted to stand trial for a number of offences including being unlawfully at large, drug offences and possession of a knife in public.

The suspect is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning for a first remand hearing and police will oppose any bail application on the grounds he is a serious flight risk.

This brings to ten the total number of persons successfully extradited back to Northern Ireland so for in 2018 on foot of European Arrest Warrants.
