DETECTIVES investigating the report of an aggravated burglary in west Belfast during which masked men viciously assaulted two males.

The attack happened in Lenadoon Avenue in the early hours of today, Friday, September 14.

Detective Sergeant Sam McCallum said: “We received a report just after 1:40am that  a number of masked males forced entry to the property and assaulted two men who were inside.

“The assailants then fled, taking a black Adidas camouflage bag with them.

“One of the men, both of whom are aged in their 20s, was treated at hospital for injuries to his head.

“Our enquiries are at an early stage, and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around this time and saw three males acting suspiciously, or has information which could assist our investigation to get in touch with detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 68 of 14/09/18.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
