DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team have charged a 21-year-old man with murder and possession of an offensive weapon in relation to the brutal killing of a man in north Belfast.

Robert Edward Joseph Molloy Jones was treated by ambulance staff near Parkmount Street and Seaview Close off the Shore Road at around 9 pm last Thursday.

He was taken to hospital and later died from his injuries.

The man charged with his murder is due to face Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning, Monday, July 2, for a first remand hearing.
