SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER 30-YEAR-OLD MAN MURDERED IN NORTH BELFAST

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a man in north Belfast last night.

The 30-year-old victim died after sustaining serious injuries.

The victim was treated by ambulance staff near Parkmount Street and Seaview Close off the Shore Road.

Paramedics called police to the scene shortly after 9 pm and man was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and taken to the PACE custody suite at Musgrave PSNI sation for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Pete Montgomery of MIT said: “A 21-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of murder and have been taken to Musgrave Police Station for questioning.

“I am appealing for anyone it was the area of Parkmount Street or Seaview Close between 8pm and 9.30pm last night and who witnessed anything to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference 1487 of 28/06/18.”
