‘CRUDE BUT VIABLE’ DEVICE MADE SAFE IN SECURITY ALERT

A SECURITY alert in Co Tyrone has now ended and all residents allowed to return to their homes. 

Detective Inspector Mulholland said: “At approximately 10.15 am police received a report that a suspicious object had been left in the Moygashel area.

“The object was examined by ATO who have declared it to be a crude but viable device that has now been made safe and taken away for further examination.

“Police would like to thank the local community for their patience and cooperation during the operation.

“Police are appealing for anyone with information that can assist with the investigation contact officers on 101 quoting reference 346 11/05/18.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
