MAN VICIOUSLY ASSAULTED BY MASKED INTRUDERS AT NORTH BELFAST HOME

DETECTIVES are investigating a report of an aggravated burglary at a house in Upper Meadow Street, north Belfast, on Thursday, April 26.                           

Police received the report just before 10pm that a number of masked men, one armed with a hammer, had forced their way into the house and assaulted the male occupant before making off.

The occupant was taken to hospital following the incident where he remains receiving treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Gardiner has appealed to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information which could assist police with their enquiries to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 1344 26/04/18.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
