MAN ASSAULTED IN DRIVE-BY ATTACK IN NORTH BELFAST

DETECTIVES are investigating after it was reported that a male had been assaulted on Shankill Road in north Belfast last night, Tuesday 17 April. 

Shortly before 8.50pm police received a report that a male had caused damage to a car on the road.

Police responded and a male, aged in his 20’s, was discovered lying on the street with an injury to his head.

It was reported that he had been assaulted by a passing motorist.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said: “We are working to establish the circumstances of the incident and I am appealing for anyone who observed the man on the Shankill Road prior to the incident or anyone who witnessed an assault to contact

“Detectives in Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference 1269 17/04/18.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
