MAN REMANDED IN CUSTODY OVER £100,000 DRUGS BUST

A 37 year old man has been been remanded in custody charged over a massive drugs bust in east Belfast.

Paul John Harrison, of Global Crescent off the Ravenhill Road in east Belfast, faced Belfast Magistrates’ Court today over the seize of £100,000 worth of drugs.

He was charged with possession of a class A controlled drug, possession of a class B controlled drug, possession of a class C controlled drug and possessing a class A controlled drug with intent to supply,

Harrison was further charged with possessing a class B controlled drug with intent to supply, possessing a class C controlled drug with intent to supply and producing a class B controlled drug.

The charges  are in connection with the seizure of drugs with an estimated street value in excess of £100,000 in east Belfast yesterday, Thursday 05 April.

Suspected amphetamine base was discovered along with several thousand tablets and a quantity of suspected cocaine, during a search by specialist officers from the Belfast District Support Team at an address off the Ravenhill Road.

A large sum of cash was also found.

The drug bust a tip off from police.

Harrison was remanded in custody to Maghaberry prison until his next court appearance via video link.
