MAN FOUND UNCONSCIOUS AFTER HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT IN WEST BELFAST

POLICE at Woodbourne are appealing for information after a man was found unconscious in the Springfield Road area of Belfast earlier today (Sunday, 11 March) following a suspected hit-and-run.

Inspector Paul Noble said “Shortly after 6:00 am the man in his 30s was found close to the Springfield Road/Crocus Street junction with serous heads injury and leg wounds.

“These wounds would be consistent with being knocked down by a car and that is one line of enquiry police are following.

“The man has since been taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

“I am appealing that anyone with information contact 101 quoting reference 349 11/03/18.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
