TWO thugs have been arrested after an 11-week-old defenceless puppy was “brutally killed” with a hammer.
The man and teenager were detained following the incident which is said to have happened in Ailsbury Park area of Lurgan on Monday evening.
The two males, aged 16 and 23, are being questioned on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to the animal which has been named on social media as ‘Sparky’.
A picture of the little has also been circulating on social media.
Police said they had recovered the remains of “the little dog and a hammer”.
Chief Inspector Jon Burrows said: “A very thorough investigation is ongoing.”
