A 23 year old man is to face a court tomorrow charged over the brutal hammer death of a defenceless puppy.
Eleven week old ‘Sparky’ was found dead by police at a house in Lurgan after reports he had been bludgeoned to death with a hammer.
Police recovered a hammer and removed little ‘Sparky’s remains from the property.
In a statement this evening, the PSNI say the man has been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to animals.
He is due to appear at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Wednesday, 7 February.
As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
A 16 year old male has been released on bail pending further police enquiries.
