DETECTIVES have charged a 58 year old male and a 57 year old female with a number of sex offences.
The charges include:
- gross indecency with a child;
- aiding and abetting gross indecency with a child;
- incitement to commit an act of gross indecency;
- indecent assault;
- making indecent images of children;
- possession of indecent images of children;
- and distribution of indecent images of children.
They are expected to appear before Downpatrick Magistrates Court this morning, Thursday, February 1.
The charges are in connection with an investigation into the sexual abuse of children.
Police conducted searches at a house in the Kinghill Avenue area of Newcastle yesterday and today as part of this investigation.
