TWO MALES HUNTED AFTER TWO SAFES AND CASH STOLEN IN BURGLARIES

POLICE in Bangor are appealing for information following two burglaries at commercial premises in the High Street area of Holywood. 

Sergeant Tom Stevenson said: “The first burglary occurred on Friday morning 12th January where entry was forced to the premises by two males at around 12:05am. 

“A sum of cash was taken along with a safe, a PlayStation 4 with five games and a wall clock.

“The first male is described as between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall, wearing a light baggy tracksuit top, navy tracksuit bottoms, a ski balaclava mask and gloves and was carrying a crowbar.

“The second male is described as wearing a dark tracksuit top and dark jeans, dark Adidas plimsoll soles, and a ski balaclava mask and gloves.

“The second burglary occurred on Monday 15th January where entry was gained to the premises just after 3am. A sum of cash and a safe were taken.

“In this instance, the two males believed to be involved were seen pushing a black wheelie bin in the direction of Downshire Road.

“We believe, at this time, that these two burglaries are linked and would appeal to anyone who may have any information which could assist us with our inquiries to contact police in Bangor 101 quoting reference 238 of 12/1/18 or 143 of 15/01/2018.”

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
